Mitanoya Training (Pty) Ltd Accademic Courses
National Certificate: Investigation of crime and irregularities NQF 5
Investigation of Crime and Irregularities within the Corporate, Business, Banking, Industrial, Commercial and Security Service Sectors as well as Government Departments’
This training programme is a first and provides for the complete spectrum of crime and irregularity investigations, everything a manager or investigator needs to know about corruption as well as the implementation of disciplinary procedures within the workplace.
The Course is registered on NQF level 5. It carries 128 credits. It was developed in compliance with international crime and irregularities investigation science, techniques and principles with specific emphasis on South African Law and investigation standards.
It is the first and currently only registered course that covers the full spectrum of crime and irregularity investigations but also conforms to two NQF Unit Standards on the subject of dealing with and investigation of corruption as well as two Unit Standards dealing with the implementation of disciplinary procedures and conducting of disciplinary hearings in the workplace;
The complete course is presented as a comprehensive package consisting of two parts each with assignments and examination applicable to each part with course duration of twelve months (which could be extended to 18 months to enable inexperienced learners in the field of investigations achieving this qualification).
The course can be completed through a process of “distant learning” which would require access to a computer and the internet, or alternatively manual learning which involves receipt and studying of printed course manuals as well as attendance of lecturing for a period of 10 days. Learners who select completing the Course through the “distant learning process” will be allowed to attend the lectures subject to certain conditions.

Provide Care to a Frail Person NQF 1
This course is for caregivers who are required to provide fundamental nursing care for a frail person on a continuous basis and under the direct or indirect supervision of a qualified health worker. The course is on NQF Level 1 and is credit-bearing with 12 credits.
Entry requirements are knowledge of ‘Assess the client’s situation and assist and support the client and family to manage home based health care’, ‘Assist the community to access services in accordance with their health related human rights’ and ‘Demonstrate skills that relate to a safe and secure environment’.
Duration: 7 Weeks
National Certificate: Business Administration Services NQF 2
Mitanoya Training offers the National Certificate: Business Administration Services on NQF level 2. This qualification was originally developed to train 200 learners in a Gautrain learnership project. The qualification consists of subjects like:
• Behave in a professional manner in a business environment
• Conduct basic financial transactions
• Contribute to the health, safety and security of the workplace
• Maintain an existing information system in a business environment
• Manage time and work processes within a business environment
• Operate a personal computer system
• Operate and take care of equipment in an office environment

National Certificate (Vocational) Safety in Society
The National Certificate: Vocational, Level 2 is aimed at learners in FET Colleges, who have a minimum of grade 9, but preferably from a general academic school and learners who are in possession of a GETC obtained through workplace learning. The qualification builds on the competencies acquired in the General Education Band.

National Certificate: Forensic Science NQF 5
Qualified learners will be able to apply their skills in a forensic science laboratory in either the public or private sectors. The qualified learner will work under the direction of a forensic scientist or senior forensic scientist on a regular basis and operate within a laboratory to analyse forensic evidence in order to determine its evidential value for a specific case. Qualified learners will know the elementary principles underlying evidential value and examination techniques in the following forensic science fields: biology, ballistics, questioned documents, criminalistics and chemistry. The qualified learner will be able to assist in the operations of a forensic science laboratory via the calibration of measurement instruments, and the documentation of results in prescribed formats.
In a nut shell, qualifying learners will be able to analyse the value and role of forensic science, apply evaluative thought processes within a scientific context, comply within current legal and criminal justice systems and apply business practices within the field of forensic science.

Teacher Assessor Course
An assessors’ course exclusively designed for teachers focusing on the National Curriculum System covering all the learning areas.
This assessor course is for those who assess learners for their achievement of learning outcomes in terms of specified criteria using pre-designed assessment instruments. It includes a section on the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statements (CAPS).

VEOP
The Vocational Education Orientation Programme
The purpose of the VEOP is to induct candidate-lecturers into teaching in the FET College sector, and introduces candidate lecturers to the FET College context, the skills development environment and associated policies. It further enables candidate lecturers to interpret the curriculum and plan relevant assessment and learning activities as well as provides candidate lecturers with a repertoire of integrated teaching and assessment strategies appropriate to vocational teaching and the relevant underpinning knowledge associated therewith.
Duration: 10 Months
Applying the South African Schools Act.
This programme is a UFS accredited short course at NQF Level 6 and is specifically for members of School Management Teams as well as departmental officials overseeing the management and development of schools at all levels. This course builds the candidate’s proficiency in understanding and applying the South African Schools Act and associated policies as intended by the due process of the law.
Duration: 3 Days
Family Science for GET and FET teachers
This programme is a non-credit bearing UFS short learning programme at NQF level 7. It has a rating of 15 CPD points with SACE. Teachers offering sciences in any school phase or final year Bed students with sciences as a major subject. After the completion of this programme students will demonstrate the ability to complete career-related tasks by expanding science knowledge into meaningful contributions for classroom teaching and will also apply the acquired knowledge and skills to develop science literacy in the community through regular community workshops.
Eight Contact sessions of five hours each.
Family Maths for the Foundation and Intermediate Phases
This programme is a non-credit bearing UFS short learning programme at NQF level 7. It has a rating of 15 CPD points with SACE. This programme is for teachers offering mathematics in any school phase or final year BEd students with mathematics as a major subject. After the completion of this programme students will demonstrate the ability to complete career-related tasks by expanding mathematical knowledge into meaningful contributions for classroom teaching and will also apply the acquired knowledge and skills to develop mathematical literacy in the community through regular community workshops.
Eight Contact sessions of five hours each.
Manage Teaching and Learning
This programme is a UFS accredited short course at NQF level 7 and offers 20 credits toward the Advance Certificate in School Management and Leadership upon successful completion. It has a rating of 15 CPD points with SACE. The course focuses on the management of teaching and learning. Students are introduced to the school as a learning organisation, the promotion of a culture of learning and teaching, which is dedicated to constant renewal and improvement. The latter is viewed within the South African context, looking into various ways in which the physical environment of the school impacts on the quality of learning.

Understand and deal with HIV/AIDS
Learners completing this course can demonstrate an understanding of HIV/AIDS issues affecting them personally and in the workplace. They are able to apply relevant national, industry and company policies and procedures for dealing with HIV/AIDS in the workplace.
This course includes:
HIV/AIDS facts and figures include definitions, causes, ways of contracting the disease, symptoms, risks associated with the disease, applicable treatments, and current rates of infection in Southern Africa .
Behaviour at work and outside the workplace
Rights and responsibilities include those of both employees that are HIV positive and those that are not.
Policies and procedures may include national, industry and organisational level policies and procedures and include issues such as behavioural requirements, testing and disclosure requirements, medical aid issues.
