Edendale Technical High School, established in 1956, initially served as an all-boys institution before transitioning to a coeducational model in 1996. Catering to students from Grade 8 through Grade 12, the school has demonstrated consistent academic excellence, maintaining an impressive average pass rate of 80% from 2006 to 2015. The school is currently under the leadership of Headmaster TF Ngubane.

Sports and Extracurricular Activities:

Edendale Technical High School offers a comprehensive sports program, including volleyball, netball, football, and tennis. Additionally, the school provides a range of extracurricular activities such as chess, choir, quiz competitions, and a school band, encouraging holistic development among its students.

Facilities:

The campus is well-equipped with a library, a state-of-the-art computer centre, and three specialized workshops, providing students with ample resources for both academic and practical learning.

Academic Achievements:

The school stands out as one of the top-performing institutions in Edendale. It boasts an exceptional track record in the matriculation examinations, with more than 80% of candidates consistently passing. According to the Department of Education’s 2014 report, 91% of Edendale Technical School’s matric candidates passed, marking a steady increase from 81% in 2013 and 75% in 2012. However, it is noted that the pass rates for mathematics and science subjects are comparatively lower, indicating an area for potential improvement.
