If you’re considering enrolling in this qualification for the first time in 2017 or later, take note that starting from 2020, it won’t be possible to continue with any Baccalaureus Technologiae. This change is in line with the newly-implemented Higher Education Qualification Sub-Framework. Admission Requirements and Selection Criteria
For applicants who obtained a Senior Certificate before 2008, meeting the following criteria is essential:
- A Senior Certificate or an equivalent qualification with a D symbol at Higher Grade for English.
- Recommended subjects: Business Economics, Computer Science, and Tourism.
Selection is based on a points system (M-score) that considers school subjects and symbols obtained. Applicants with 12 points are accepted, those with 10 to 11 points may be invited for an evaluation test, and those with 9 points or less will not be accepted. The department may also invite applicants for evaluation tests and personal interviews.
For applicants with a National Senior Certificate in or after 2008, the admission requirement includes:
- A National Senior Certificate with a bachelor’s degree or diploma endorsement, or an equivalent qualification with an achievement level of at least 4 for English and 3 for Mathematics or 4 for Mathematical Literacy.
- Recommended subjects: Business Economics and Travel and Tourism.
Applicants must have an Admission Point Score (APS) of at least 20 to be considered for this qualification.
For applicants with a National Certificate (Vocational), the admission requirement is as follows:
- A National Certificate (Vocational) with at least 50% for English and Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy, along with other specific subject requirements.
- The certificate must be in fields related to management, marketing, hospitality, tourism, and more.
- Applicants must have an Admission Point Score (APS) of at least 27.
