Auckland Park Theological Seminary
Vocational certificate courses at ATS are designed for self-improvement, specifically for those in ministry roles. They have no minimum entry requirements and offer non-credit-bearing vocational certificates, though they do recognize prior learning in South Africa.
Applying for a Course
- Select a Course: Review the available vocational certificate courses and choose one that meets your needs. If uncertain, the Administration Department can help you select the most suitable course.
- Complete the Application Form: Fill out the online application form. If you’re unable to do so, contact the Administration Department for a paper application form.
- Submission Confirmation: Online applicants will receive an email confirmation. Note that this is not a registration confirmation; the Administration Department will contact you once your application is processed.

ATS employs a blended, off-campus learning approach supported by the internet. The primary learning materials are printed, non-digital resources, ensuring accessibility for all students, including those without reliable internet access.
Study Materials and Methodology
Study Manuals: These include a Reader and a Study manual, guiding students through weekly outcomes, readings, and self-assessments. They also offer information on lecturer, tutor, and administrative support.
Online Tutoring: Regular virtual meetings with lecturers are available for program discussion and clarity.
Assessment Process
Formative Assessments: Includes assignments, tests, and experiential learning tasks. Feedback is provided by lecturers.
Assessment Integrity: Maintained through a network of assessment centers with trained invigilators.
Additional Learning Support
Library Services: Comprehensive library facilities support teaching and learning.
Workshops and Seminars: Regular events on campus, supplemented by online resources.
International Students at ATS
Language: English is the medium of instruction.
Entrance Requirements: Based on academic ability, personal statements, references, and potentially admissions tests or written work.
