The following are specifications that SA carriers look for when hiring flight attendants:
1. Candidates must be South African citizens and possess current passports and ID cards.
2. The idea that flight hostesses or hosts must be extremely tall is rather unfounded. To reach the overhead storage, you only need to be taller than 1.57 cm.
3. Most airlines require that you be at least 18 years old and hold a Matriculation or Grade 12 diploma.
Prefer people to be between the ages of 20 and 35.

After being chosen, you may be required to take a medical evaluation/agility exam by some airlines to make sure you are in good health and capable of carrying out the job’s requirements.
