The South African Army, South African Air Force, South African Navy, and the South African Military Health Service are the four military forces that make up the South African National Defense Force (SANDF) Reserves.
The Military Skills Development System is the most popular route for recruits to take to join the Reserves (MSDS). Direct hiring is the second way to join, although this option is only open to those with specialized abilities like engineers, IT pros, diesel mechanics, etc.

A soldier is a combatant who serves in an army. An officer, non-commissioned officer, or conscripted or volunteer enlisted person are all considered soldiers. Soldiers are active duty members of the ground, naval, air, or reserve forces.
How Can I Join The South African Army?
For students between the ages of 18 and 22 (and those who graduate from 26 years), graduation is a requirement. Studying for the National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or having it completed would be ideal. It cannot be completed in the city of Houston. Does not have any criminal convictions.

How long does it take to join the South African military?

Training
The following training should be provided to you during your first two years of volunteer service.
The initial MSDS
Both fundamental and practical military training;
Training particular to the Corps;
Taking part in actual military training activities;
Combat-readiness training drills;
Choosing young leaders.
MSDS second year
Junior officers are being trained by the leader group corps;
Undergoing formative instruction for new officers;
Choosing the officers who will attend the military academy;
Put your attention on the deployment and use of MSDS personnel.
How much do South African soldiers in basic training make?
First-year Military Skills Development (MSD) trainee soldier salaries will increase from R2643 per month to R4318 with effect from December 1, while second-year trainee salaries will increase from R2643 to R5343. Private salaries will increase from R5286 to R7871, lance corporal salaries will increase from R6149 to R8519, and sergeant salaries will decrease from R8962 to R10.
