Transport
The Durban People Mover is probably the cheapest and easiest way for students to get around Durban and hence to and from DUT. Originally intended as a tourist transport system, the Durban People Mover is efficient and covers all areas of Durban. At R5.50 for a single trip, and R16.00 for a day pass, this bus system is cheap enough to be used daily by students. The Durban People Mover operates from 06:30 until 23:00 every day.
Students are encouraged to form lift groups to minimize traffic flow into Durban city.
Additionally, the traditional minibus taxi operations are prominent in Durban and should not be ruled out as possible transport.
