How does a prepaid water system work?

A consumer buys water credit in the form of a prepaid water token. The token directs the water management device to allow a specified amount of water through the metre before closing when entered into the User Interface Unit (located in the consumer’s home).

1. Go to www.citiqprepaid.co.za.

2. Click on the SIGN UP button right at the top of the page.

3. Add your meter number and click NEXT.

4. Add your name, surname, ID number and email address and click on SIGN UP.

5. You’ll receive an activation link from Citiq Prepaid to activate your account, Click on the link.

6. Set your password.

7. Log in to purchase tokens.

8. Click on New Purchase.

9. Enter amount and select payment method: credit card or the Ozow EFT payment option.

10. Confirm Payment.

11. Once the transaction is complete you will receive an SMS with your token number.

12. Enter the number into your prepaid electricity meter.
