Healthnicon Nursing College Western Cape Campus Application Status 2025-2026 Intake

Established in March 1995 as “The Private Nursing School,” Healthnicon was among the pioneers of private nursing education in South Africa, accredited by the South African Nursing Council (SANC). Since then, it has grown to include the Healthnicon Vaal Campus and the Healthnicon Western Cape Campus.

Over the years, Healthnicon has ascended to prominence as a premier private nursing education institution. Its commitment is reflected in the diverse training it offers, grooming individuals as Community Health Workers, Auxiliary Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, and Registered Nurses. Their curriculum is enriched with courses in Geriatric Care, Paediatric Care, and Orthopaedic Care, among others.

Cape Town is home to Healthnicon’s main office. Besides, the institution boasts three accessible campuses: in Pretoria, Vereeniging’s Vaal, and Parow’s Western Cape. The college not only provides foundational programs but also courses addressing specific, in-demand skills. These programs lead to recognized qualifications, paving the way for further education, career progression, and personal growth.

Programmes Offered:

  • Community Health Workers Short Course
  • Auxiliary Nurses
  • Enrolled Nurses
  • Registered Nurses
  • Geriatric, Paediatric, Orthopaedic, and Palliative Care Short Courses

FAQs:

  • Regarding Grade 12 and CHW Course: Those with a minimum of NQF Level 3 (Grade 11) can enroll in the Community Health Worker course but won’t qualify for the Auxiliary course (NQF Level 5).

  • For ABET Level 4 Holders: In South Africa, ABET Level 4 equals Grade 9. However, to join the Community Health Worker course at Healthnicon, a minimum of Grade 11 (NQF Level 3) is necessary.

  • Prerequisites for the CHW Course: Healthnicon requires completion of the CHW course before enrolling in formal nursing programs to ensure conceptual clarity and industry orientation for students.
