Trump Memecoin Team Shuts Down $300K Dinner Rumors, Clarifies Eligibility Rules
Misunderstandings Over Blockchain Data Spark False Speculation Around Trump Coin Dinner
The team behind Trump Coin, the controversial memecoin tied to former U.S. President Donald Trump, has firmly denied rumors circulating online that participants must hold over $300,000 worth of tokens to attend an exclusive dinner with the former president.
In a statement posted on April 25 via the project’s official X account, Trump Coin’s team clarified that the eligibility for the highly anticipated dinner is not based on raw wallet balances, but on a custom leaderboard that tracks time-weighted holdings.
“People have been incorrectly quoting #220 on the block explorer as the cutoff,” the team stated. “That’s wrong because it includes things like locked tokens, exchanges, market makers, and those who are not participating.”
Blockchain Misreads Spark Online Confusion
The confusion began when crypto community members referenced a Solana blockchain explorer, which showed that the 220th-largest wallet holder owned 33,114 TRUMP tokens, valued at over $400,000 at the time. But Trump Coin’s team was quick to respond, saying block explorers do not reflect the actual selection process.

Instead, eligibility is determined by a dedicated leaderboard available on the project’s website. This leaderboard only tracks wallets actively participating in the event.
“You should only be going off the leaderboard,” the post emphasized.
Who Gets a Seat at Trump’s Table?
On April 23, the Trump Coin team published the first version of its leaderboard, listing the top wallet addresses in line for the dinner. While the final guest list is yet to be confirmed, the top 220 wallets based on time-weighted holdings will be selected—pending Know Your Customer (KYC) and background verification.
The project emphasizes that eligibility is not about just holding a large amount of TRUMP tokens, but how long those tokens are held. According to the official website:
“The longer you hold, the higher your weighted score becomes.”
At the time of writing:
-
The top leaderboard holder possesses over 1.1 million TRUMP tokens worth $14.6 million, but has a time-weighted score of just 686,000.
-
The 220th-ranked wallet holds only 1,125 TRUMP tokens, worth around $15,000, but is still in the running due to long-term holding history.
Interestingly, some wallets with zero TRUMP holdings still remain on the leaderboard due to their previous long-term token holding behavior.
