About TUT Animal Sciences
Our aim at the Department of Animal Science has and will always be to supply the animal production industry with highly skilled and qualified people who can deal with animal nutrition, breeding and the management of farm animals. Our graduates are highly sought after for their ability in applying principles of biological, physical, and social sciences to the problems associated with livestock production and management.
We have an excellent record of training manpower for the different animal production industries for more than thirty years, and in the past 18 years, the only department in South Africa that offers training in equine management. All our qualifications are offered from diploma up to doctoral level in both Animal Production and Equine Science.
