Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality is situated in Limpopo and is one of the five local municipalities within the Mopani District. It is known for attractions such as the Kruger National Park, the Letaba Ranch Game Conservancy, game farms, and Eiland Resort and Spa. The municipality covers a large geographical area, with a significant portion dedicated to agriculture, including game and citrus farming. The municipality’s mission is to provide socio-economic infrastructure that fosters an environment conducive to manufacturing, agriculture, agro-processing, retail, sports, and mining.
Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality Bursary Program:
Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality is offering external mayoral bursaries for the 2025-2026 academic year to students residing within the Ba-Phalaborwa municipal area. The bursaries will fund undergraduate Bachelor Degrees, National Diplomas, and TVET Diplomas, with a preference for fields including Commerce, Engineering, Environmental Science, and Town and Regional Planning. However, students pursuing studies in other fields may also apply.
Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for the Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- South African citizenship
- Aged between 16 and 35 years old
- Residing within the Ba-Phalaborwa municipal area, Limpopo
- Completed Matric
- Planning to study or already enrolled in an undergraduate qualification for 2025-2026, preferably in the specified fields
- Studying or accepted at a recognized and accredited South African public institution (University, University of Technology, or TVET College)
- Not having previously received any other bursary funding or NSFAS funding
- Strong academic record
- Unemployed
- Financially needy
- No criminal record
- Preference given to disadvantaged students

- Proof of residence (water or lights account/testimonial from a traditional leader/letter from a Ward councillor)
