Besek College (Pty) is a private institution registered in terms of the Gauteng Provincial Regulation No 248 of 2004; and Further Education and Training Colleges Act (31(3) of 2006).

Besek College (Pty) was established in 2002 as an inclusive and diversity college, to offer accessible education for all. In the South African context, Besek College is entirely owned by previously disadvantaged individuals.

Besek College (Pty) and its programmes are accredited and quality assured by the Gauteng Provincial Department of Education for Primary and High School Education.

Our programmes are SAQA registered and are aligned to the National Qualification Framework (NQF) from Level 3 to Level 5, are accredited by MICT-Seta, FASSET, and the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB). These programmes cover the following fields: Information Technology, Bookkeeping, Accounting, and Human Resources Practices.

In 2007 Besek College (Pty) received Provisional Accreditation from MICT-Seta. In 2008, a full Institutional Accreditation was granted to Besek College after complying with the relevant requirements. In 2008, the college received a Provisional Registration status from the Department of Higher Education.

Besek College (Pty) has gathered broad experience in working with a wide range of learners over the past eleven (11) years in delivering a range of professional education programmes.
In the last eleven (11) years period, Besek College has successfully delivered tuition and academic support to over 1500 learners.

In delivering these professional education programmes to both the public and private sectors,Besek College (Pty) continues to standardize its intellectual, academic and infrastructural capacity.
Besek College (Pty) has the necessary expertise in the designing of high quality and relevant course materials, as required by the relevant ETQAs. Our teaching and learning strategies facilitates the transfer of knowledge from the trainers, teachers etc to our learners, both employed and unemployed.

Accreditation and Registration
  • Besek College is fully accredited by MICT – SETA, to fulfill the functions of a provider as contemplated in Regulation 9 (1) of the ETQA Regulations of 1998 for nit Standard(s) and/or Qualification(s). The College has been awarded the following accreditation number: ACC 2008/07/196.

EXIT OUTCOMES:
A qualifying learner will be able to:
  1. Administer credit purchase and credit sales transactions.
  2. Apply knowledge of income, receipts, payments and expenses.
  3. Administer Value Added Tax (VAT) transactions.
  4. Complete reconciliation statements, general ledger accounts and trial balances.
  5. Administer petty cash.
  6. Apply knowledge and understanding of personal taxation.
  7. Administer petty cash.
  8. Apply knowledge of business taxation.
  9. Record business financial transactions.
  10. Administer petty cash.

The learner who acquires this qualification should be able to demonstrate ability to:

National Diploma : Technical Financial Accounting

Pre-requisite : Bookkeeping NQF Level 4 or equivalent.

N.B. Learners without the necessary skills will have to register for Bookkeeping NQF Level 4EXIT OUTCOMES:A qualifying learner will be able to:

  1. Process documents relating to goods and services supplied and received.
  2. Maintain records relating to capital acquisition and disposal.
  3. Input, store and output data.
  4. Provide costing reports.
  5. Highlight trends in costs and make suggestions for the reduction of costs and adding value to the organization
  6. Prepare cost estimates for work activities and projects
  7. Contribute to the planning and conducting of an audit
  8. Classify and record Accounting and non- financial data.
  9. Take responsibility for the management of cash and credit
  10. Perform tax computations, prepare returns for business and individuals and submit all required tax returns

Auditing Procedures, Cost Management, Planning and Allocation of Resources, Drafting Financial Statements, Statutory Interpretation of the South African legislation, General Ledger Accounts Preparation, Cash Management and Credit Control Systems, Business Tax Returns, Preparation of Ledger Balances and Tax Returns, Recording of income and receipts, Supplying costing information, Determination of taxable income, Professional Values and Ethics, Business Communication , Management of accounting information systems.
