Multiple companies can exist under the same QuickBooks Online account. Each company file is a separate paid subscription, but you can access them all with the same sign-in information. This allows you to switch between companies quickly, allowing you to manage everything more efficiently.
Note: While merging two companies in QuickBooks Online is not possible, you can consolidate and compare your QuickBooks companies using our authorized 3rd party app, Qvinci Consolidations.
Transfer existing company files to the same account
If you have multiple companies in QuickBooks Online, here’s how to merge them all into one account.
Add a new business.
Go to the QuickBooks pricing page and select the desired subscription option. This initiates one of two experiences:
If you’re already signed in to QuickBooks, you’ll be asked to confirm the account with which you want to sign in. Select Yes, that’s correct if the account displayed is the one you want to use for the new company file.
If you haven’t recently signed in, you’ll be prompted to create an Intuit account. Fill out this form only if you want to link your new company file to a new account. Instead, look for the section Adding a company to an existing account? and click the Sign in link. Sign in with the QuickBooks user ID and password you already have.
To create a new company file, follow the on-screen instructions.
Change between company files
QuickBooks asks you which company file you want to open when you sign in. To switch between companies in QuickBooks, go to Settings and then Switch company.
