Do I have to register my child for homeschooling in South Africa?
If you prefer to teach your child at home you must apply to the head of your provincial education department to register your child for home schooling. You can either teach your child yourself or hire a tutor to do so.
How do I register my child for school online?
The department has urged parents and guardians to apply online on www.gdeadmissions.gov.za to secure their child’s space at a Gauteng public school in 2023. After applying, they will receive SMS notifications of placement offers to either accept or decline from 3 – 31 October 2022.
How do I register my child for school in South Africa?
Registration procedure
- Application form from the school.
- Official birth certificate.
- Immunisation card.
- If you are moving your child from one school to another, submit latest school report, and a transfer card.
