Central University of Technology CUT Graduation
For the upcoming graduation ceremonies at both the Welkom and Bloemfontein campuses, there are specific guidelines and procedures that graduating students need to follow:
Before the Ceremony:
- Academic Attire:
- It is mandatory for all graduates to wear academic attire, which includes a mortarboard (academic cap with a flat square and a tassel on top).
- This attire is provided by an external service provider. Graduates need to ensure they order their attire when completing the attire form.
- Attire pick-up location:
- Welkom Campus: On campus, a day or two before the ceremony.
- Bloemfontein Campus: At the Artec Hall, a day or two before the ceremony.
- Walking Across the Stage:
- There will be a demonstration on how to properly walk across the stage during the graduation ceremony.
- Photos:
- For professional on-stage photos, graduates must complete the required form and make necessary payments to an external provider.
On the Day of the Ceremony:
- Guests:
- Each student is allowed to bring two guests. Children are not permitted at the graduation.
- Nametag and Seat Number:
- Graduates will receive a nametag and seat number indicating their reserved seat. This will be issued in the foyer of the auditorium/hall an hour before the ceremony.
- Venues:
- Welkom Campus: Kingdom Ministries of Christ Auditorium.
- Bloemfontein Campus: Boet Troskie Hall.
- Seating Arrangements:
- Graduates are requested to take their seats at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the ceremony.
- Autumn Graduation Protocol:
- The doors of the auditorium/hall will be closed 10 minutes before the ceremony starts. No entry will be allowed after this time.
- The doors will remain closed until the end of the ceremony, and graduates must remain seated throughout.

- Graduates should contact the Assessment and Graduation Unit for any queries related to the academic attire or the photography service.
- It is essential to adhere to these guidelines to ensure a smooth and dignified graduation ceremony.
