The FirstRand Foundation was established in 1998 as a means for FirstRand Limited, along with its major franchises (FNB, RMB, and WesBank), to direct their corporate social investment. Since its inception, the Foundation has received 1% of FirstRand Limited’s net profit after tax (NPAT).

Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible for the FirstRand Foundation Trust Bursary, applicants must meet specific criteria, including:

South African citizenship Black (African, Coloured, Indian, Asian) ethnicity Age not exceeding 21 years in the first year of study Completion of Matric within the last three years Minimum level 5 for Mathematics in Matric Strong academic record Intention to study full-time toward an undergraduate degree in the specified fields Provisional admission to a South African public university for 2024-2025 Belonging to the “missing middle” group, with a combined gross family income between R350,000 and R600,000 per annum.
