ISFAP Bursary 2025-2026
About ISFAP (Ikusasa Student Financial Aid Programme):
The Ikusasa Student Financial Aid Programme (ISFAP) is a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) dedicated to providing financial assistance to poor and middle-income university students. ISFAP raises funds from various sources, including non-profit organizations, government institutions, foundations, the private sector, local and international donors, and private individuals. These funds are used to support South African students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds in pursuing their undergraduate tertiary studies.
ISFAP Bursary Program:
ISFAP offers bursaries to students from the “missing middle” who are pursuing studies in fields categorized as “Occupations of High Demand.” The bursaries are awarded for the 2025-2026 academic year and cover selected qualifications at partner institutions. ISFAP Bursary Coverage and Selection:
The ISFAP bursary provides full coverage for tuition fees and offers subsidized funding for books, accommodation, a meal stipend, and a cash allowance. Bursary recipients also receive non-academic student support, including academic development, life skills training, tutorial support, social support, mentoring, access to program managers, and psycho-social support when needed.
Eligibility Requirements:
To qualify for the ISFAP Bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- South African citizenship
- Currently in Matric or completed Matric
- Accepted to study at one of the partner public tertiary institutions and pursuing an approved qualification for 2025-2026
- Starting their first year of undergraduate studies in 2025-2026
- Family household income not exceeding R600,000 per annum
- Demonstrated financial need

Closing Date:
The closing date for ISFAP Bursary applications for 2025-2026 is 31 October (subject to confirmation). Applicants should submit their applications before the closing date to be considered.
