John Thompson has a rich history dating back to the Industrial Revolution in England during the 19th century. Today, it is a division of ACTOM (Pty) Ltd, which is the largest electro-mechanical equipment manufacturer, repairer, and distributor on the African continent.
About the John Thompson Bursary Program – Fields Covered & Coverage Value:
John Thompson is inviting students to apply for their bursary program for the 2025-2026 academic year. Bursaries will be awarded to final year undergraduate students in the following fields of study:
- Electrical Engineering
- Finance
- Human Resources
- Information Technology
- Mechanical Engineering
Eligibility Requirements for the John Thompson Bursary:
Applicants must meet the following minimum entry criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Have completed Matric
- Be studying toward an undergraduate qualification in one of the specified fields
- Be in the final year of study in 2025-2026
- Be studying at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
How to Apply for the John Thompson Bursary:
Candidates can apply by submitting clear copies of the following supporting documentation (all documents must be certified within the past three months and not older):
- ID document (certified copy)
- Full academic record, including the most recent results (certified copy)
- Breakdown of fees/financial requirements from the tertiary institution
- Proof of parents or guardians’ proof of household income
- Proof of address/residence
There is no application form to complete for this bursary application. Students need only submit the above-listed documents to apply.
