Kumba Iron Ore is the largest iron-ore producer in Africa and ranks fourth globally. The company, listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in 2001, emerged from Kumba Resources. Kumba Iron Ore operates primarily through open pit (open cast) methods and supplies iron ore products both domestically (to AMSA) and internationally, with a clientele including countries such as Japan, China, South Korea, the Middle East, and parts of Europe.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be studying or intend to study towards an undergraduate qualification in the fields listed above.
- Be entering their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of study in 2025-2026.
- Be registered or provisionally accepted at a recognized and accredited university in South Africa.
- Have a strong academic record.
- Be willing to complete vacation work in the Northern Cape.
- Have a valid Code B Driver’s License or be able to obtain it during the bursary period.
- Preference is given to candidates local to the Northern Cape and differently-abled candidates.
