Marula Platinum Bursary 2025-2026
About Marula Platinum:
Marula Platinum (Pty) Limited is a member of the Implats Group and is located on the eastern side of the Bushveld Complex in the Limpopo province of South Africa. The mine began operations in 2002, with the development of the UG2 horizon. Currently, Marula Platinum has two decline shaft systems used to access the UG2 reef.
About the Bursary Program:
Marula Platinum will be offering bursaries to students pursuing studies in the following fields:
- Environmental
- Finance
- Geology
- Human Resources
- Safety
Coverage Value and Selection:
The bursary will cover various expenses, including registration fees, tuition fees, accommodation in residence, a meal allowance, a cash allowance, and mentorship support. Students in their second year and beyond will also receive a personal computer allowance.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and a psychometric assessment. Psychometric assessments will only be conducted after students have submitted proof of university admission. If applicants do not receive feedback, they should consider their application unsuccessful.
Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for the Marula Platinum bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Reside within the local community of the Marula Platinum mine
- Currently in Matric OR have completed Matric
- Studying or intending to study one of the specified fields
- Studying or intending to study at a recognized South African tertiary institution
- Achieved a university exemption pass in Matric
- Minimum “C” symbol for Mathematics in Matric
- Minimum “C” symbol for Physical Science in Matric
- Minimum “C” symbol for English in Matric
- Minimum overall average of 60% at university if currently studying
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work within a team
- Leadership potential
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Logical thinking and decision-making skills
- Good communication skills
- Self-motivated
