- Two-year, part-time engagement with monthly Saturday sessions and biannual two-week intensive blocks.

- Specialized coursework in anatomy, physiology, microbiology, chemistry, and pharmacology.

Mental Health Nursing
Course Objective:
Equip nurses with a comprehensive skill set for community-based, primary, secondary, and rehabilitative mental health care, ultimately leading to registration as a psychiatric/mental health nurse with the SANC.
Admission Requirements:
- Matriculation/Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Registered as a general nurse, with basic and advanced mental health training.
Duration:
- 18-month, part-time course from January to June of the subsequent year.
Curriculum Highlights:
- Focus on psychosocial rehabilitation, psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Study of psychopharmacology, relapse management, and therapeutic communication.

Primary Care Nursing
Introduction:
Train nurses for the District Health System in South Africa to proficiently diagnose and treat common ailments at the Primary Health Care level.
