RBI Technical And Vocational Education And Training Bursary 2025-2026
RBI is inviting students to apply for the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) bursary for the upcoming academic year. This bursary aims to provide a pathway to a successful future for students, especially in fields where there is a shortage of skills in South Africa, particularly in engineering and mining.
The bursary will be awarded to academically deserving students who lack the financial means to pursue higher education. It covers tuition fees, study materials, and living expenses. The eligible fields of study include boiler making, electrical engineering, rock engineering, fitting and turning, mining management, civil engineering, mining overseer, blasting ticket, mechanical engineering, and quality management.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the RBI TVET bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen and resident of Royal Bafokeng.
- Must be in financial need (proof of household income required).
- Should not be receiving funding from other private, government, or NSFAS sponsors.
How To Apply
Applicants should follow these steps to apply for the RBI TVET bursary:
- Apply for admission to a TVET college.
- Once accepted, send proof of admission along with other required documents via email to sgss@bafokeng.com.
The bursary panel will review applications, and applicants will be notified of their application status by or before May 10, 2025-2026. If applicants do not receive confirmation from RBI by the notification date, their application can be considered unsuccessful.

- Certified ID documents
- CV (Curriculum Vitae)
- Letter from Kgosana (leader or head)
- Latest academic results if already enrolled in a TVET college
- Proof of family income or an affidavit
Closing Date
The closing date for the RBI TVET Bursary 2025-2026 is May 5. Applications submitted after this date will not be considered.
