Samancor Chrome is a major player in the chrome mining and ferrochrome smelting industry in South Africa. The company was established in 1975 through the merger of SA Manganese Ltd and Amcor Ltd. It is the largest integrated producer of ferrochrome globally, with a significant share in the production of ferrochrome used for stainless steel manufacturing.

Samancor Chrome Bursary Scheme 2025-2026

Samancor Chrome offers a bursary scheme for talented individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in the mining and mechanical engineering fields. The bursary is available for Grade 12 students with provisional university admittance, as well as students who are completing their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of study at an accredited and recognized South African university. The bursary aims to support students in pursuing their education and career aspirations in these fields.

• Mining Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering

Eligibility Criteria:

• Grade 12 students with provisional university admittance or students completing their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of study at a recognized South African university.
• Applicants must be studying in the fields of Mining Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
