Sekhukhune Further Education and Training College is a South African Public institution accredited by Umalusi (the body responsible for quality assurance of programmes offered at the general and TVET institutions) and governed by Further Education and Training Colleges Act (FETC Act no 16 of 2006). The College emerged as a result of the merger process between two Colleges, namely, CS Barlow and CN Phatudi as declared by the Minister of National Education in order to change the TVET landscape.
The Sekhukhune TVET College has been registered with the Limpopo Department of Education in terms of the Provincial regulations for registration of institutions and its EMIS number is 996603305. The College is situated in the South Eastern part of Limpopo Province and services mainly rural areas of the Greater Sekhukhune District Municipality which incorporate Five Local municipalities, namely, Elias Motsoaledi, Greater Marble-Hall, Greater Tubatse, Fetakgomo and Makhuduthamaga local municipality.
The College focuses on Engineering, Business, Information Technology and Utility Studiestraining which relates directly to the needs as identified by ASGISA (Accelerated & Shared Growth Initiative for South Africa) and JIPSA (Joint Initiative on Priority Skills Acquisition) for skilled people in the engineering, Financial and Managerial fields while it is also addressing the needs for skilled artisans, IT Technicians, Employees in the Tourism and Hospitality fields.
Our staff is fully geared to take the bold step to implement the new SAQA Unit Standards, National Certificate Vocational (NCV) and the NQF Level 2 – 4 qualifications, to actively participate in Community Education. We have ample Accredited OBE Educators, Assessors, Moderators and Verifiers that will ensure the quality of our training. The College provides various study opportunities in the National Certificate Vocational courses, such as: Generic Management, Marketing Management, Tourism Management, Information Technology & Computer Science, Electrical Infrastructure Construction, Finance, Economics & Accounting, Civil Engineering Construction, Manufacturing and Assembly, Engineering Related and Design, Fabrication & Extraction, and Office Administration.

Sekhukhune TVET College has also certified all Quality Management Systems requirements and has been certificated as ISO: 9001:2008, compliance during the year 2006 certified by Alpha Certification Services. The certificate certifies that all the College processes are structured for ‘CUSTOMER’S SATISFACTION’ at all times.

LEVEL 2: BUSINESS STUDIES
- Gr 12 passed without higher certificate
- Passed Gr 11
- Passed Gr 9 or 10 with a 40% pass in English and 30% pass in Maths.
- Passed Gr 9 or 10 but failed English and Maths will be placed on a waiting list.
- Financial Management: passed Accounting
LEVEL 2: ENGINEERING STUDIES
- Gr 12 passed without higher certificate with Maths
- Passed Gr 11 with Maths
- Passed Gr 9 or 10 with a 40% pass in English and 30% pass in Maths.
- Passed Gr 9 or 10 but failed English and Maths will be placed on a waiting list.
- For IT course – Gr 12 and passed Maths
LEVEL 3
- Passed Level 2 (At least 5 subjects – must enrol for supplementary)
- Students can only enrol for 7 subjects in a year
LEVEL 4
- Passed Level 2 in all 7 subjects
- Passed Level 3 (At least 5 subjects – must enrol for supplementary)
NB:
- A candidate can only register on two consecutive levels in an academic year, i.e. Levels 2 and 3 or Levels 3 and 4, but not on Levels 2 and 4 or all three levels simultaneously.
- The full ICASS component is to be completed for all seven subjects offered in an academic year to ensure that tuition is offered even for subjects being repeated and the ICASS component is to retain its currency of 1 academic year.
- The same optional vocational subject is to be offered across all three levels by a candidate irrespective of the name change which may take place across Levels 2, 3 and 4.

Prospective students must complete a placement questionnaire which will assist the student in choosing the correct career path.
Placement tests are written in September – October every year and also in January. To assure your space you are advised to write the test during September.
