SACAA is offering bursaries for the 2024-2025 academic year to students interested in pursuing degree courses related to aviation, including aircraft maintenance engineering, aeronautical engineering, and pilot training.

Successful candidates will be contacted by the South African Civil Aviation Authority. If you do not receive any feedback on your application, consider it unsuccessful.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the SACAA bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • South African citizenship
  • Age between 18 and 35 years
  • Completed Matric or currently pursuing Matric
  • Intending to study one of the following fields: aircraft maintenance engineering, aeronautical engineering, or pilot training
  • Minimum level 5 in English, Pure Mathematics, and Physical Science for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering applicants
  • Minimum level 5 in English, Pure Mathematics, and Physical Science for Pilot Training applicants
  • Preference will be given to candidates not receiving other bursaries, scholarships, or student loans

To apply for the SACAA Bursary, follow these steps:

  1. Download and complete the bursary application form.

Documents Required:

Applicants must submit the following documents to complete their application:

  • Certified copy of ID document
  • Certified copy of the latest Matric results (if currently studying for Matric) or Matric certificate (if completed Matric)
  • Latest academic results on the institution’s letterhead (if currently studying)
  • Proof of other financial assistance (if applicable)
  • A motivational letter supporting the application
