About Tiger Brands:
Tiger Brands Limited, founded in 1921 as a family business by Jacob Frankel (and partly Joffe Marks), has grown to become the largest food company in South Africa. Formerly known as Tiger Oats Limited, the company now has interests in food companies in several countries, including Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Cameroon, and Chile.
The company’s first product was the well-known Jungle Oats brand, a breakfast oatmeal, which is still produced by the brand today. Tiger Brands has a workforce of over 20,000 employees and offers a wide range of products, including baby products, personal care products, home care products, bakery products, snacks, fruit and vegetable products, rice and pasta products, and more.
About the Tiger Brands Bursary:
Tiger Brands is inviting students to apply for their Graduate Bursary Programme for the 2024 academic year. The bursaries will be awarded for undergraduate studies towards Bachelor or BTech degree qualifications in ANY field.
Eligibility Requirements for the Tiger Brands Bursary:
Applicants must meet the following minimum entry criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Have completed Matric
- Be in their first year of study
- Be entering their second year of study in 2025-2026 (the year for which they are applying for funding)
- Have achieved a minimum overall average result of 65%
- Be studying at a recognized tertiary institution in South Africa
How to Apply for the Tiger Brands Bursary:
To apply for the bursary, eligible students should submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation:
- ID document (certified copy)
- Matric certificate (certified copy)
- Academic transcripts/record for the 1st semester in the 1st year of study (certified copy)
There is no application form to be completed for this bursary application—students need only submit the above documents to apply.

Closing Date for the Tiger Brands Bursary:
The closing date for applications is 30 September. Applications submitted after this date will not be accepted, so be sure to apply before the closing date to ensure your application is considered.
