Admission Requirements
If you obtained a Senior Certificate before 2008, you’re eligible for this program if you have an E symbol at Higher Grade or a D symbol at Standard Grade for English and Mathematics. Preference is given to applicants with a background in agricultural subjects, especially those with Biology and/or Physical Science.
For applicants who obtained a National Senior Certificate in 2008 or later, you need a bachelor’s degree or a diploma endorsement, with an achievement level of at least 4 for English (home language or first additional language) and 3 for Mathematics (or 4 for Mathematical Literacy).
Selection Criteria
Prospective students are assessed based on academic merit, using a formula that assigns values to symbols (A=8, B=7, C=6, D=4, E=2) and grants additional points for specific subjects related to agriculture and sciences. Applicants with a score of 23 and above will be considered for admission, while those with scores between 20-22 will be placed on a waiting list.
Duration and Presentation
This program has a duration of three years and is presented through day classes. It’s ideal for those who want to pursue their studies on-campus.
Intake and General Information
The program starts in January only. While the training involves some degree of risk, the university takes all reasonable precautions to prevent accidents and injuries. It’s recommended that students take out insurance for added protection.
Work-Integrated Learning
Students have the opportunity to gain practical experience through Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) I and II. This hands-on experience is invaluable in preparing you for the real-world challenges of the agricultural industry.
