About
Against the background of our mission to be a dynamic, innovative and quality-driven faculty, the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences covers a diverse academic spectrum, from public and private sector management, to specialised training for accountants at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, and aim to provide relevant, market-driven capacity and competence through, inter alia, research.
Students can obtain first-degree qualifications in one of three teaching programmes: Private Sector Management, Public Sector Management and Training of Accountants. These qualifications aim to develop students’ intellectual skills through scientific teaching and learning so that they will be thoroughly prepared for various careers in the broad field of Economics and Management. Furthermore, the faculty offers successful international programmes for both staff and students.

Requirements
- A National Senior Certificate (NSC), or National Certificate: Vocational (NCV) Level 4, and an AP of either 18 for Higher Certificates, or 20 for UPP study options.
- Four subjects on level 3 (40%–49%).
- Language of instruction on level 3 (40%) for all options.
- Commerce (BCom) study option: Mathematics on level 3 (40%) or higher.
- Administration (BAdmin) study option: Mathematics is not a requirement to study this option. The duration of the course is four years. NB: You will not be allowed to change from an Administration to a Commerce programme.
Closing date for applications for SA students: 30 November 2017

Remember to upload copies of:
- Your ID or passport
- Your parent’s ID or passport if you are younger than 18 years
- Your Grade 11 final results and Grade 12 June results, both with the school’s stamp
- Your academic records if you are a current student at another institution of higher learning
WRITTEN application: Go to www.ufs.ac.za. Follow the link ‘how to apply’ and download the application. Complete and sign it, and post it with all the relevant documentation to The Application Office, PO Box 339, Bloemfontein 9300.

Note: Students who stay in the sub-regions, i.e. Bethlehem, Welkom, Sasolburg, and Oudtshoorn, (excluding Bloemfontein) and meet the admission requirements of the university (AP of 30 and higher), may study locally and register for the mainstream university modules as mentioned in the above three options.
