University of Cape Town UCT New Manager Course
Confidence, personal growth and an expert command over the core principles of management: The New Manager short course at the GSB focuses on developing participants’ ability to manage and lead a team with confidence. One of the fundamentals of the course is to enable managers to “speak the language of leadership”. On the New Manager programme, delegates gain practical skills on how to improve their management ability and are able to implement what they have learned in the workplace and add value to their organisation.

Course information
The New Manager course runs in Cape Town on the GSB campus. It is accredited by UCT at NQF level 6 with 15 credits. This indicates that participation consists of 150 notional hours of contact, presentation, assignment work and reading/preparation. Delegates who attend the full programme and submit an assignment that is assessed to be competent will receive a UCT certificate indicating the achievement of 15 credits in continuing professional development.
