Streamlined Registration Guide – Bloemfontein Campus
Welcome to the Online Registration Portal – Bloemfontein Campus
Embark on your academic journey with ease by accessing the online registration demonstration tailored for newly admitted students or those transitioning to a new field of study.
Important Notice: The university’s curriculum and module codes have undergone significant revisions. Ensure you consult your faculty’s rulebook to ascertain the precise module code(s) for your registration.
To ensure a seamless online registration, please adhere to the following comprehensive steps.
University of the Free State Self-Service Registration
Should you encounter any issues with the electronic academic registration, it’s crucial to visit the campus as scheduled for academic guidance (from 23 January to 3 February).
You will be notified via email and/or SMS, along with a link to commence the enrolment task. This link will direct you to the login page where you can proceed with your student number and password for enrolment.
Consult the Enrolment Guide that you received for detailed instructions on navigating the Online Enrolment Service. This guide will be distributed to continuing students in December, as well as to incoming first-year students.
Module Enrolment Process
Step 1: Access the Oracle PeopleSoft system with your student number and password. Ensure your UFS password is current to gain entry to the university’s electronic systems.
Setting Your UFS Password:
- Visit: http://selfservice.ufs.ac.za
- Activate your password using your student number and a personal password.
- If a password reset is necessary, UFS will provide a temporary password, which must be updated upon first login using a One-Time-Pin sent to your mobile phone.

Step 2: Within the PeopleSoft system, navigate to the ‘Current Tasks’ tile on the Student Homepage and select the enrolment task labeled ‘UFS Student Enrolment’.
Step 3: Complete all activities listed on the Student Task WorkCenter page. The system allows you to log out and resume the activities later if needed.
Step 4: Verify that your selected modules appear on your Proof of Registration, which can be found on the Student Centre page and will also be emailed to you after registration.
Adjusting Your Module Enrolment
For any modifications or cancellations of enrolled modules, follow one of the two outlined procedures:
Enrolment Adjustments (Option 1):
- Log in to the Oracle PeopleSoft system.
- Visit the ‘Student Centre’ tile.
- Click on the ‘Enrolment’ link under ‘Academics’.
- Choose the applicable term.
- Proceed with ‘Continue’.
- Use the ‘Add or Drop Modules’ options as needed.
- Confirm your module selections.
- Submit and validate your changes, ensuring they are reflected in your Proof of Registration.
Enrolment Adjustments (Option 2):
- Log in to the Oracle PeopleSoft system.
- Access the ‘My Education Plan’ tile.
- Navigate to the ‘Enrolment’ Tab.
- Click on ‘Add/Change Courses’.
- Make necessary course adjustments.
- Click ‘Update Planner’ followed by ‘Validate Planner’.
- Use ‘Build Schedule’ to finalize.
- Click the ‘Enrolment’ button to confirm.
- Confirm and verify the changes on your Proof of Registration.
