About the WeThinkCode_ Bursary:

The WeThinkCode_ bursary offers a full-time, tuition-free course sponsored by some of South Africa’s top companies, including Telkom, FNB, BBD, Derivco, Dimension Data, and IQ Business. The course spans two years and covers both front-end and back-end programming.

Key details of the bursary program:

  • Tuition fees and a stipend of R2,000 per month (for food and transport) are covered by corporate sponsors.
  • Students are required to complete two paid internships, each lasting four months, with their sponsor company during their studies.
  • Upon graduation, students are required to work for their sponsor company for an equal duration to the bursary award.

Eligibility:

The Selection Process:

The selection process involves several stages:

  1. Online tests: Applicants will take a series of online tests.
  2. Selection Bootcamp: Successful applicants from the online tests will be invited to participate in the selection Bootcamp, which lasts for four weeks.
    • The Bootcamp includes intense problem-solving activities to determine which students will be awarded the bursary.
    • Applicants must be prepared to attend campus daily during the Bootcamp, including weekends, for a minimum of 10 hours per day.
    • The tasks will involve collaborative computer programming problem-solving with fellow students.
  3. Top applicants from the selection Bootcamp will be invited to study at WeThinkCode_ full time.

Closing Date:

There is no specific closing date for applications. The application process will close once all selection Bootcamp slots are filled, and it operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
