For many years, the village of Lanseria lay outside of Johannesburg. However, beginning in the 1970s, this area became heavily developed due to its proximity to Johannesburg International Airport and its excellent access to roads and railways. Today, it is still unclear if the village will be incorporated into nearby Johannesburg or become an independent community.
The village of Lanseria was established in 1940 to serve the nearby mines. It became a popular summer resort for Johannesburg residents after the Lanseria International Airport was opened in 1974.
You may know the town of Lanseria as a small village located in Johannesburg, South Africa. The village is best known for its location near the Lanseria International Airport and has a population of around 550 people.
