The Waterberg Biosphere Reserve, also known as the Waterberg Plateau, Waterberg Massif or just The Waterberg, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and biosphere reserve in the Waterberg District of Limpopo Province in South Africa. At an altitude of 1476 m (4894 ft) above sea level, it is located approximately 325 km northwest of Johannesburg and 115 km from Polokwane, it covers an area of 200 000 ha (494 000 acres). This makes it the largest single block of intact Afromontane forest remaining on earth, and one of the largest in the world.
