There are currently two ways to buy bitcoin in South Africa, both of which involve buying cryptocurrency from a peer-to-peer exchange.
Remitano
Remitano is a peer-to-peer exchange, where you can buy and sell Bitcoin with ZAR. It’s a safe, fast and secure way to do so.
If you want to buy Bitcoin on Remitano, simply follow the steps below:
- Register for an account at [remitano](https://www.remitano.com/).
- Deposit money into your new account by depositing cash in any of their specified outlets across South Africa (listed here). You need an R500 minimum to start trading cryptocurrencies on Remitano!
- Once your deposit has been confirmed by their support team, head over here and selects how much Bitcoin you would like to purchase or sell using the slider at the top of their website (and set its price in Rand) then click “Buy BTC” or “Sell BTC” respectively depending on if it’s buying or selling BTCs you want right now!
