The Procedures to Check My Electricity Bill in South Africa

Can I Check My Electricity Bill in South Africa?

Yes. As an Eskom customer you can now read and submit your own electricity meter readings on a monthly basis using a channel of your choice.

When you submit your self-read meter readings to Eskom you have peace of mind that your bill is accurate, and you will see when your electricity expenditure goes up. This way you can better manage your account, keep your bill low and control how much you use. You can count on only paying for what you have used.

Can I still purchase electricity if I do not have a meter card?

Yes, you can. The store will require the meter number, which is the 11 digit number found on the meter itself or on its display. Should you wish to replace a lost meter card, please contact your nearest Power Measurement office and we will assist you.

Where do I get my meter number?

The meter number is the 11 digit number found on the meter itself, or on the display.
