TUT Higher Certificate In Electrical Engineering

NOTES:
1. For Those with Senior Certificates Prior to 2008:
Qualification Requirements:
- Must hold a Senior Certificate or equivalent.
- Must have C grades in Standard Grade or D grades in Higher Grade for English and Mathematics.
- Must have D grades in Standard Grade or E grades in Higher Grade for Physical Science.
Selection Criteria:
- Need an Admission Point Score (APS) of 20 or higher.
Suggested Subjects: Not specified.
2. For Those with National Senior Certificates from 2008 Onwards:
Qualification Requirements:
- Must have a National Senior Certificate with a higher certificate endorsement or equivalent.
- Should achieve at least a level 4 in English (either home or first additional language) and Mathematics or Technical Mathematics.
- Need at least a level 3 in Physical Sciences or Technical Sciences.
- Those lacking in Mathematics, Physical Sciences, or other key subjects can pursue these subjects at a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College. Upon achieving a performance level of 50% or higher, they may seek university admission again.
Selection Criteria:
- Need an Admission Point Score (APS) of 20 or more.
Suggested Subjects: Emphasis on Electrical Technology and Engineering Graphics and Design.
3. For Those with Qualifications from Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges (Formerly FET Colleges):
Qualification Requirements:
- Should hold a National Certificate (Vocational) at NQF Level 4.
- Certificate must be issued by the Council for Quality Assurance in General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi).
- Requires at least 50% in English and Mathematics and 40% in Physical Sciences, along with three vocational subjects.
Selection Criteria:
- An Admission Point Score (APS) of at least 20 is necessary.
