CAO Late Applications
Programme closing dates are listed. Take note that many programmes have early closing dates to accommodate interviews and assessment tests.
Applications received after the closing date are processed as ‘late’. Late applications are dealt with differently at each institution (refer to the institutions’ prospectus for more information). N.B. Health Science programmes at UKZN do not consider applications received after the closing date.
Application fees are non-refundable. Your application will not be forwarded to your institution(s) of choice until you submit full payment
to the CAO. Fees for discontinued programme choices are not refunded, but you are allowed to change that choice at no cost to you.
If we do not receive your payment and/or your cheque or credit card is not honoured by the bank, YOUR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE MADE AVAILABLE TO THE INSTITUTIONS. Costs of returned cheques will be passed on to the applicant.
Make sure your application fee is paid in full on or before the published closing dates of the programme/s you apply for. If payment is received after the date on which we receive your application, the payment date will be treated as the received date of your application. Institutions have different closing dates for their programmes. If programmes have closed by the time we receive your payment, your application for these programmes will be late. N.B.: If you apply for Health Science programmes at UKZN and pay after the closing date, the status of these programmes will be ‘Applications Closed’ and will not be considered.
If payment is received after 31 May (for July intake) or 31 October (for January intake), you will be liable to pay the late application fee, as indicated in the table above.
