Course Summary:
Duration of the Course: 4 Months (64 Hours) @ Braamfontein Campus (Available Weekdays, Part-Time Weekday Evenings, Saturdays)
Course Objective:
The Introductory Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting is an ACCA Foundations in Accountancy (FIA) qualification which aims are:
- To develop knowledge and understanding of the main types of business transactions and documentation and how these are recorded in an accounting system up to the trial balance stage.
- To develop knowledge and understanding of providing basic management information in an organisation to support management in planning and decision-making
Who Should Attend?
The Introductory Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting is awarded on the completion of exams Recording Financial Transactions (FA1) and Management Information (MA1), and also Foundations in Professionalism.
The Introductory Certificate is suitable for those aspiring to work or already working in:
- A junior accounts clerk/junior bookkeeper role in an SME
- A range of junior accounting administration roles within an accounting department of a larger organisation or financial shared service centre.
The Introductory Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting is broadly equivalent to GCSE level.
Course Prerequisites:
- There are no course prerequisites for this course. Students however must be numerate and have a good command of English Language.
- Registration with ACCA is a prerequisite as Johannesburg Polytechnic is a tuition provider while summative assessments are done by ACCA through our Licensed Computer Based Examinations Centre.
Course Assessment:
This course is assessed by a 2 hours Computer Based Examination at any Licensed ACCA CBE Centre per paper or on 2 hour paper based examination at a designated ACCA examination centre. Provisional Results are printed for you at the CBE Centre however final certificate will be available to download on MyACCA portal upon successful completion of the two modules (FA1 and MA1) and Foundations in Professionalism online module.
