Tshwane University of Technology TUT Biomedical Sciences

TUT Biomedical Sciences

Are you fascinated by organs, cells and how the human body system functions? Then the Department of Biomedical Sciences is where you should be. We offer four fields of specialisation within the broader health sciences spectrum namely, Biomedical Technology, Clinical Technology, Veterinary Technology and Radiography (Diagnostic). We are strongly focused on postgraduate programmes and have produced many top-quality master’s and doctoral graduates in the past 20 years.

We have produced the best graduates in this field and that is largely influenced by our academic staff who are prominent experts in different areas of biomedical science, with solid links with industry and academia locally and internationally. We also boast the Centre for Tissue Engineering established in the latter part of 2003, through a collaboration agreement between TUT and Bone SA, in an effort to increase the availability of bone tissue for transplantation in South African patients.
