How to Apply for Studies at the Baptist Theological College (BTC)

- Certified Copy of Your Matric Certificate: This is necessary for verifying your educational background.

- Valid Study Permit: This is required if you are not a South African resident, to confirm your eligibility to study in South Africa.
- Pastoral Reference: Provide the contact name and email address of your pastor or a church leader who can vouch for you.
- Personal Reference: Include the contact name and email address of a friend or colleague who can complete a personal reference report for you.
Complete the Application Form: Fill in all required information accurately and attach your prepared documents.
Submit Your Application: Once all sections of the application form are completed, and your documents are attached, submit your application for review.
Study Options at Randburg Campus
1. Bachelor of Biblical Studies (BBib)
Duration & Credits: A three-year program with a total of 360 credits.
Level: National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Level 7.
Curriculum: The course covers biblical studies, systematic theology, language studies, with a major in either Missiology, Pastoral Studies, or Youth Studies.
Mode of Study: Available for both on-campus and distance learners.
2. Bachelor of Theology Honours (BThHons)
Prerequisites: Open to graduates of the BBib program or those from other institutions with a recognized 360-credit theological degree.
Duration & Credits: A one-year program with 120 credits.
Level: NQF Level 8.
Mode of Study: Offered to both on-campus and distance learners.
Distance Learning Options:
In addition to the above degrees, distance learners can also enroll in:
3. Higher Certificate in Theology
Duration: A one-year foundational course.
Credits: 120 credits.
Curriculum: Includes fundamental courses in Biblical Studies, Systematic Theology, Pastoral Studies, Mission Studies, Youth Studies, and Church History.
4. Higher Certificate in Ministry (Pastoral Major)
Target Audience: Ideal for lay-pastors, ministry leaders, or those exploring a ministry calling.
Focus: Similar to the Higher Certificate in Theology but with a pastoral emphasis.
5. Master of Theology
Prerequisites: Designed for those meeting specific academic criteria, including the completion of a 4-year/NQF8 degree.
Nature: A research-based postgraduate degree.
