Boston City Campus and Business College Application Form
Get an early start because application time is here again…
Boston City Campus and Business College Application Form 2018-19, It’s that head-shaking time of the year for those who are unfamiliar with tertiary education. Closing dates vary from institution to institution, application and registration rules can be time consuming, and you have to have the required documentation or it’s no go. There are dozens of acronyms – such as FET, NQF, SAQA, to mention but a few – that sound like a foreign code to the untrained ear. And then, pray tell, just what is a Unisa licensee?
According to Natalie Rabson of Boston City Campus and Business College, these are the things that newcomers to post-school education question and sometimes struggle to get to grips with.
“It can be daunting for first-time students and their parents and that is why we advise prospective students to consult a student advisor,” she says. “Student advisory services are available at most tertiary institutions and at Boston they are offered free of charge and students are under no obligation to register.”
The best approach, she believes is to make a list of all the questions you may have and then proceed to find the answers one by one. Start by speaking to other parents and students who have gone through the same process that you now face; do some research on the Internet, and read publications that focus on careers and education such as The Star Workplace. Make an appointment to go see a student advisor to clarify your remaining queries – do this long before the closing date for applications.
“There are no short cuts in education,” she says. “It is worthwhile investing some time and effort so you make an informed decision, a decision that suits your career aspirations, talents, circumstances and pocket best.”
An option that is becoming increasingly more popular is to study towards a degree through Unisa and it is thus crucial that the public understand the concept of a Unisa licensee. Boston City Campus and Business College was one of the first colleges to become a Unisa licensee almost 20 years ago.
The main benefit of being a licensee is that Boston has a direct link to Unisa, we are alerted to any to degree changes; course changes and even content of modules. Boston serves as the liaison to deal directly with Unisa discuss any student changes or issues providing additional services to our learners.
This means that students who enrol for studies with Unisa distance learning can go to a branch of Boston City Campus and Business College and attend classes, get academic support, socialise with other students and enjoy the life of a regular student.
Boston offers tuition to Unisa students at 23 of its branches nationwide. As usual, Boston is available to assist students with Unisa subject and course choices as well as applications for registration. Unisa applications for studies in 2013 opened yesterday, August 1 and close on Monday September 17, 2012.
