University of Cape Town UCT Payment Methods

University of Cape Town UCT Payment Methods

How and where can I make a payment?

Various methods of payment are available and must include the student name and student number to avoid the possibility of a payment not being timeously credited to the correct student fees account.

M65 form

The preferred method of payment is via the M65 form. (A hard copy of this form can also be found at the bottom of UCT fees correspondence.) This should be used whenever possible to ensure prompt credit of payment to the student fees account. This form may only be used at Standard Bank branches. Don’t forget to ensure that your nameand student number are on both sections of the form.

Download the M65 form.

Cheque

The student’s name and student number must appear on the back of the cheque. Cheques should be crossed, made payable to the “University of Cape Town” and sent to:

Cashiers Office
University of Cape Town
Private Bag X3
7701 Rondebosch

No changes on cheques will be accepted even if the account holder has signed the changes in full. Any attempted cancellation or change on the cheque will give rise to the cheque being rejected by the bank.

Postdated cheques will not be accepted.

A R150 administration fee will be charged on all unpaid cheques.

Credit card

Credit card payments for student fees are accepted.

Credit card payments can be made directly to the student fee account online or by completing the Credit Card form at the back of the Student Fees booklet and faxing it to the Cashiers Office, University of Cape Town on 021 650 5093. The Cashiers Office hours are weekdays from 09h00 to 15h30, except for Thursdays when it opens at 09h30.

Download the credit card form.

Debit card

Debit card payments for student fees are accepted, but can only be made at the Cashiers Office by the card holder, as the card holder must enter his/her pin when authorising the transaction.

Cash

Cash payments, to a maximum of R1500, will be accepted at the Cashiers Office, Kramer Law Building, Middle Campus.
