Thing To Do in Aberdeen Visit The Kalkkop Crater

The Kalkkop Crater is a huge crater located in the Kalkkop Nature Reserve, not too far from Aberdeen. It’s one of those things that you really need to see if you’re planning to visit this part of South Africa.

The crater itself is 20 meters wide and 100 meters deep, with a pool of water at its bottom. According to locals, it was created when a meteor struck the earth some 200 million years ago!

Sounds like something straight out of Harry Potter or Jurassic Park, right? Well yes…and no! I don’t know why these things are being used as examples here—maybe they’re popular movies? But anyway: during your visit to this incredible site, be sure not to leave anything behind because people have known Do Not Leave Things Behind At The Crater To Avoid A Fate Worse Than Death (or something like that).
