Which Month is the Coldest in South Africa?

It’s no secret that South Africa is a country with diverse weather patterns. From the hot, humid summers to the cold, wet winters, there’s a lot to consider when planning your trip. But when it comes to the coldest months, which ones should you focus on?

Interestingly enough, the coldest months in South Africa vary depending on which region you’re in. In the Northern Hemisphere, the winter months are typically the coldest, but in the Southern Hemisphere, it’s actually the months of June and July that tend to be the chilliest. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you won’t find some cold days in other months – it’s just that the average temperatures are lower during these two months. So if you’re looking to escape the heat and enjoy some cooler weather, plan your trip for June or July.

Summer in South Africa starts from October to March, you can enjoy Spring in South Africa on the very first days of September. In the coldest Cape Town air warms up to 18 °C (64 °F), in Durban to 20 °C (68 °F) and 26 °C (79 °F) in Pretoria.
