New Addition:
From May 2016, a Computer Literacy Short Course is a compulsory component of the Community Health Worker short course at all campuses. Applicants with proof of Computer Literacy (NQF Level 3/ grade 11) will be exempted from this course.
Admission Requirements:
Minimum educational requirement of Grade 11 or 12.
For specific courses like Enrolled Nurse, current registration with SANC is required.
For Community Health Worker/Home Based Care, a relevant certificate is needed.
Foreign Students: Additional documentation such as certified copies of highest school qualification, SAQA certificate, study permit, and passport copies are required.
Application Process:
Applicants must contact their preferred campus to obtain application forms.
Required documents for application include certified copies of ID, Senior Certificate, marriage certificate (if applicable), ID photos, proof of residence, previous nursing certification, proof of medical aid membership, and a police clearance certificate.
For foreign students, additional documents are required as mentioned above.
Specific Cases:
Applicants with an ABET level 4 qualification do not qualify for the Community Health Worker course, as it requires a minimum of Grade 11 (NQF level 3).
Completion of the Community Health Worker course is a prerequisite for formal nursing programs at Healthnicon.
