The Physics Department offers an academic curriculum that prepares students for a career in industry, while constructing a vital understanding of physics. We pride ourselves with the postgraduate programmes that continuously lay the foundation for entry into a wide choice of internationally competitive research areas for students. The Department of Physics offer a fascinating three-year national diploma in Industrial Physics and Fire Technology for employees in the various emergency services.
Diplomats in Fire Technology could further their studies leading to obtaining a BTech degree in Fire Technology. The minimum duration is one year. There is also the master’s degree programme in Fire Technology available for holders of the BTech: Fire Technology. The Department of Physics simultaneously provides service subjects to other Science and Engineering departments. We promote the spirit of free enterprise, initiative and research.
