Absa Swift Code for International Payments
When receiving international payments into your Absa account, it’s essential to provide the sender with accurate banking details to ensure a smooth transaction. One critical piece of information is Absa’s SWIFT code, which is ABSAZAJJ.
In addition to the SWIFT code, the sender will need the following details:
Branch code: 632005
Your account number
Your account name and address
Purpose of payment
Providing these details helps facilitate the transfer and ensures compliance with the South African Reserve Bank’s (SARB) reporting requirements. Each incoming international payment must be reported to the SARB with the relevant Balance of Payment (BoP) category. Absa assists in this process by:
Automatically allocating a Purpose of Payment through Standard Settlement Instructions (SSI) for recurring payments.
Enabling you to provide the Purpose of Payment and foreign exchange conditions through online channels.
Offering support via the Transactions Inbound Service (TRIS) team through phone and email confirmations.
For further assistance or to set up Standard Settlement Instructions, you can contact the TRIS team at +27 (0)11 335 4020 or email TRIS@absa.co.za.
By ensuring all necessary information is provided, you can receive international payments efficiently and securely into your Absa account.
