How To Buy A Gautrain Card
Any Gautrain station offers both the Ticket Vending Machines (TVM) and the Ticket Office for the purchase of Gautrain Cards.
The TVMs accept cash and bank cards and resemble ATM bank terminals. So try the TVM instead of waiting in lines at the ticket office! Additionally, there are several convenient vending kiosks along specific Gautrain bus lines where Gautrain Cards can be obtained.

Does the Gautrain Gold Card have an expiration date?
After the date of last usage, your Gautrain Gold Card is still valid for three years. You can register your Gautrain Gold Card or use it anonymously; this Gautrain Card is reusable repeatedly.
How can I get a refund for a Gautrain card that has expired?
You can apply for refunds of between R1 and R1500 at www.gautrain.co.za. • At any Gautrain stop, fill out a refund application form to request a return of more than R1500. Along with the refund application, you should include a copy of your customer ID and a bank statement.
