Can You Play Star Trek in South Africa Offline

Cryptic Studios’ Star Trek Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) based on the Star Trek franchise. The game takes place in the year 25th, 30 years after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis. Star Trek Online, the first massively multiplayer online role-playing game in the Star Trek franchise, was released in February 2010 for Microsoft Windows. At launch, the game required a game purchase as well as a monthly subscription fee. It relaunched in January 2012, with a free-to-play tier available. In March 2014, a version of the game for OS X was released following a public beta testing period. Support for OS X ended in February 2016 due to technical issues with the port. It was later released in September 2016 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

What is the Star Trek setting?

The events of Star Trek: Nemesis are set thirty years later in Star Trek Online. The United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire’s alliance has broken down, and they are at odds once more. While the Dominion rebuilds its forces, the Romulan Star Empire continues to deal with the fallout from the loss of their homeworld twenty-two years earlier (as depicted in J. J. Abrams’ Star Trek film). The Borg Collective has resurfaced as a significant threat. Later expansions introduce the Vaadwaur, Iconians, Na’Kuhl, Krenim, Terran Empire, Voth, Species 8472 (dubbed “The Undine” in the game), Tzenkethi, and Hur’q as adversaries.

Is Star Trek Online still operational?

Star Trek Online is the only current Star Trek title, aside from a few mobile games. Fortunately, it’s a pretty good game. Despite being 11 years old, Star Trek Online is still going strong and is constantly being updated with new ships, story content, and events.

Is Star Trek Online a free-to-play game?

The gameplay revolves around controlling a character from the desired faction in an open world filled with various locations and elements from the Star Trek universe. It combines space, in which you control a starship, and ground gameplay, in which you control an avatar from a first or third person perspective.
